Video: What to Bring to a Spine Surgery Consultation

So, if you have an appointment with your spine surgeon, there are a few things you can do to help the visit and help the surgeon make the recommendations.

Number one. Please bring a copy of all the X-rays, MRIs, CAT scans, or any diagnostic study you had in relationship to your spine.

Number two. If you can, please obtain a copy of the most recent medical reports from the previous doctors who've treated you for your specific spine problem.

Number three. Please bring a list of questions that you want to ask your spine surgeon.

And finally, number four. Please bring a friend or family member to the visit. You will find you'll be nervous, you won't be able to remember your questions, and you often need somebody else to prompt you to ask the questions that you always wanted to ask.

If you bring those things to the office visit, it'll be much more beneficial for both you, the patient, and the doctor.
