Hi, I'm Natalie, and today I'm going to share with you several tips for recovering from neck surgery.

First and foremost, it's really important to follow whatever post surgical rehabilitation protocol your doctor has given you early on.

After surgery, the initial concerns are to help reduce pain and reduce inflammation. This is often done with use of ice, gentle massage or electric stimulation.

As you begin to heal, you'll be given targeted strengthening exercises and stability exercises to help improve the strength of your neck.

As you return to function, your physical therapist might address your body mechanics and teach you safer ways of doing things. This might include modifying your daily activities or your job tasks.
