Hi, I'm Natalie, and today I'm going to share with you several tips for recovering from back surgery.

First and foremost, it's really important to follow whatever postsurgical rehabilitation plan your medical provider is prescribed for you. This plan will most likely include regular movement and exercise, as this has many benefits. It helps improve circulation, improve tissue health, and boost endorphins, which can help improve your mood and reduce pain. It's important to ask your medical provider what movements you should do and what's best for you post surgery.

It's also really important to ask what movements you should avoid as after some surgeries you should avoid things such as bending, twisting or lifting. It can be helpful for your first physical therapy visit to bring your protocol or whatever postsurgical instructions your doctor has given you, as this will help aid your first physical therapy visit.
