Hi. I'm Natalie, and I'm going to show you guys two gentle yoga poses for neck and shoulder pain relief. Yoga has been shown to be effective in helping to treat shoulder and neck pain. But if any of these poses increase your pain or cause no symptoms, please discontinue and consult with your medical provider.

The first one I'm going to show you guys is a Sphinx Pose. This can be performed laying on the ground, on a mat, or on your bed, wherever you feel most comfortable.

You're going to place your hands in front of you, with your forearms on the ground. And as you inhale, press your palms and forearms into the ground. Lift yourself up. You can start by holding this for about 30 seconds and work your way up to about two minutes total.

The next stretch I'm going to show you guys can be done right from the Sphinx pose, you're going to go into a Child's Pose by pushing yourself up until you're a kneeling position, with your knees wide and your feet together. You'll then take a deep breath in. And as you exhale, bend forward at your hips, sliding your hands forward into a stretch. This position can be held for up to a minute.
